There are two major places that I would recommend you to go and if possible alone. The houses of Mother Teresa and Rabindranath Tagore.
They are so peaceful and culturally vibrant that they sort of complete your Kolkata experience.
So as you hop in the yellow taxi and begin your city trail remeber to look out for crowded market, undiscovered lanes, local newspaper seller, chai wale bhaiya, the local meeting joints, the book shops,
The Indian Coffe House and the Howrah Bridge. And put on Rabindra Sangeet while you do so. Kolkata will never disappoint you
